Background

This mosquito-luring device uses temperature to attract and trap mosquitoes. Coated with an attractant, the flower opens when temperatures rise and closes as it cools, protecting the attractant from wind and debris. This mechanism aligns with mosquito activity, ensuring effective control and longer-lasting attractant, ideal for outdoor spaces.

How it Works

• As the temperature rises, the flower opens automatically, releasing the attractant and drawing mosquitoes that become trapped upon contact.
• When the temperature drops, the flower closes, shielding the attractant from external elements like wind and debris.

Coordinating Mode

The device design follows the Thermal-driven Mode.

Result

The device aligns with the natural activity cycle of mosquitoes, ensuring effective mosquito control and prolonging the lifespan of the attractant. It’s well-suited for outdoor spaces such as campsites and gardens. During tests in midday summer heat, the device successfully attracted and trapped three mosquitoes within two hours.
